Our school's achievements were showcased at the opening ceremony of the 2025 World Design Capital Conference, and an innovation forum was held

On September 25th, our school's Series of Achievements in International Standards for Green Design was showcased at the opening ceremony of the 2025 World Design Capital Conference as one of the top ten key projects in the city.

Yan Haifeng, a member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and vice president of the university, was invited to attend the opening ceremony of the conference and released the achievements on behalf of our university. The Series of Achievements of International Standards for Green Design, as one of the top ten key projects in the city, was led by Academician Wang Hualin and jointly completed by scholars from the School of Art Design and Media, the School of Resources and Environmental Engineering, and the School of Mechanical and Power Engineering. This fully demonstrates the leading and ing role of our school in Shanghai's green transformation and innovative development.



World Design Capital Innovation Forum Ecological Design and Urban Carbon Neutrality

 

On September 26th, the Ecological Design and Urban Carbon Neutrality Innovation Forum of the 2025 World Design Capital Conference, jointly organized by our university and the Shanghai Energy Efficiency Center, was successfully held. Wu Zhiqi, a second-level inspector of the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology, and Yan Haifeng, a member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and vice president of East China University of Science and Technology, attended the forum and delivered speeches. The forum was hosted by An Dadi, an associate professor from the School of Art Design and Media of our university.


      Yan Haifeng, on behalf of the school, extended a warm welcome to the attending experts and scholars. He stated that global climate governance has entered a critical stage, and the deep integration of ecological design and carbon neutrality is an important measure to serve the country's dual carbon strategy and respond to the contemporary issues.


      Wu Zhiqi pointed out in his speech that in recent years, Shanghai has achieved remarkable results in green buildings, low-carbon parks, and ecological space construction, providing rich practical scenarios for the wide application of ecological design. 



This forum consists of two parts: keynote speeches and roundtable dialogues. Four experts, namely Zhang Linghao, the president of Nanjing University of the Arts, Wang Xun, the director of Shanghai Energy Efficiency Center, Ren Yuxiang, the chairman of Shanghai Carbon Life Everything Technology Co., LTD., and Professor Yan Aibin from the School of Art Design and Media of our university, shared their cutting-edge thoughts and practical experiences from different perspectives during the keynote speech session.


Professor Wang Jun, the dean of the School of Art Design and Media of our university, and Yang Pengzhi, the director of external affairs of Shanghai Carbon Life Everything Technology Co., LTD., respectively hosted two roundtable discussions. Many experts from universities and enterprises engaged in in-depth exchanges on topics such as AI-enabled design practices, the green transformation of the fashion industry, the cultivation of international design talents and the development of green innovative products, as well as future carbon source alternatives to assist cities in achieving carbon neutrality. They shared cutting-edge practices and application cases.


Three important achievements, namely the International Standard for Green Design, the Guidelines for Carbon Performance Evaluation of Industrial Enterprises, and the Air-based Sustainable Aviation Fuel technology, were released at the forum site.
